People love to talk risk, but never lived in the slums,

But the pain from that risk is what's making you great,
People calling that fear, I guess I call it success,
And stay feeding on stress until I'm swallowed by death,

So I dwell on my growth, never on the regrets,

Stepped off a plane, bask in the heat of the sun,
Product of broken homes now It’s hard to see me as one,
My moms proud, I do it for both of my kids,
They'll never go hungry or be hoping for shit,
When I was poor thought getting rich is for fools,
But got shocked looking at a fridge full a food,
So fuck it, barely made it, got a couple of bucks,
Enough to live and give this fucking struggling up,
Eat wherever I want and not stuck in a place,
Where dudes losing from drugs mothers stuck at their wake,
Life can be cold, so I appreciate growth,
Had nightmares from fiends who kept dreaming of dope,
Grateful for life, and how I'm seeing it now,
Growing up, had nights with no heat in the house,
Now I got some kids, and a beautiful wife,
Turning pain into progress is the beauty of life
In 17' got married, purchased a truck,
Spent all of our savings tryna purchase some luck,
Learned that doesn't exist, took a job for commission,
That truck cost me 5, couple months got it tripplin’
Sometimes I was weak, but never doubt in my eyes,
Cause if my son didn’t eat I’d be outta my mind,
But I’ll out work anyone, and that’s on my kids,
Remember being broke like that’s how I lived,
When my father died, guess it left a hole in the home,
Saw my mother crying left me cold now I’m grown,
My dad from the Middle East so I shouldn’t complain,
Wonder how poverty hit him, and how he took on the pain,
But he’s dead, So I turned that wonder to strength,
